Fowler's Rockmaster is a robust, digital hardness tester with direct readout, requiring minimal maintenance. Ideal for inspectors and quality control engineers for on-site checking. Generally used in a vertical position but may be used in almost any direction-even on circular sections-without affecting accuracy. Rockwell C scale is easily read on the large digital readout. Complies with American, British and German standards.

Mechanically operated with an electro-mechanical readout. Special preloaded springs provide a load of approx. 15kg to the indentor. When conducting a hardness test, the springs operating against the assembly are balanced against the hardness of the specimen.

Max. penetration into specimen .005"/.125mm. Check calibration against reference block. Tester weighs approx. 5 lb/2.25 kg. For accurate readings, avoid coarse finishes on machined surfaces. Specimens must be free of rust and scales.

Depress hand grips for zero setting until digital readout switches on. When movement ends, reading is taken-shuts when hand grip is released. Operates on a 9 volt battery (approx. life 2 years). Battery life end by "LOW-BATT" in corner of the display.
