LAN Cable HiTester
The Hioki 3665-20 LAN Cable HiTester enables communications electricians to test wire conntection status after installing LAN cables.
As networks spread, twisted pair cables are being installed in virtually all locations such as buildings, factories, apartments and condominiums, and homes. Accordingly, electrical technicians who previously did not handle communication cables are increasingly required to install twisted pair cables. Furthermore, since network communication speeds are increasing, more accurate installation is required. To make this possible, a LAN cable tester is used.
The LAN CABLE HiTESTER 3665-20 was developed based on the technology of its predecessor LAN CABLE HiTESTER 3660 in order to offer a tester that can efficiently and accurately test the wire connection, cable length, and connection destination of twisted pair cables.
The LAN CABLE HiTESTER 3665-20 is a handheld tester that allows you to easily check the wire connection status, cable length, and connection destination of twisted pair cables. It enables you to check the wire connections after installing cable connectors, to measure the cable lengths, and identify multiple cables.
Advantages:
Easy Operation
Just connect the LAN CABLE HiTESTER 3665-20 and TERMINATOR 9690 and press the TEST button to simultaneously test the wire connection status, cable length, and cable connection destination identification. The display screen Description clear illustrations to make it easy to understand.
Shielded Cables and Crossover Cables Can Also Be Tested
Furthermore, straight cables and crossover cables (three patterns of 10/100BASE, 1000BASE-T, and 1000BASE-TX) can be identified and displayed.
Detect Split Pairs
Split pairs can adversely affect communications, for example, by suppressing communication speeds and completely disrupting communications. Split pairs that cannot be detected with a continuity test can be detected with the 3665-20.
Locate the Source of Errors
When errors occur due to broken or short-circuited cables, the distances to the sources of the errors are displayed.
NVP Setting Function
The setting of NVP (Normal Velocity of Propagation: the ratio of the speed of a signal in the cable relative to the speed of light in a vacuum) can enhance the accuracy of cable length measurements. NVP can be automatically calculated by inputting the length of a reference cable.
Confirm the Cable Connection Destination
Up to 21 cable connection destinations can be identified. The 3665-20 comes standard with a terminator with ID 0. Optionally, a set of 5 terminators with ID numbers 1 to 20 can be added as needed.
Beeper and Backlight
To facilitate onsite work, a beeper sounds when buttons are pressed and test results are displayed. Furthermore, since the backlight turns on when operation is performed, the 3665-20 can be used in dark locations.
Compact, Lightweight, and Easy to Operate
The 3665-20 is equipped with an easy to read screen and can be easily operated in one hand. It is also light in weight because just two batteries are used.
