This micrometer has a friction thimble to help provide uniform pressure for precise, repeatable measurements. The measuring faces are flat and are carbide-tipped for durability. This unit turns off after 20 minutes of idle time and can be turned on by twisting the spindle for convenience. Additional functions offered by this micrometer include zero setting and alarms for low voltage and counting value composition errors. The measuring force is 5 to 10 Newtons (N).
